NEW LOOK FOR 'E & S' RALLY

The "Express and Star" and Goodyears are to co-sponsor what, for the past, eight years, has been known as the "Express and Star" rally.
It has now been renamed the "Goodyear Express and Star Rally" and is scheduled for May 6. The rally is being organized by the Wolverhampton and Sout Staffs Car Club and some 180 competitors are expected to enter the 300-mile marathon through Welsh, mountain country. About 120 miles of the route will pass through forest, speeds these stages being 50 m.p.h. Cars will start from Llandrindod Wells at one minute intervals, beginning the at 7 a.m. The course will go through Builth Wells, Llandovery, Tregaron, Devils Bridge, Llanidloes, Machynlleth, Dolgellau, Bala and Bettws-y-Coed. The Marine Hotel at the Llandudno marks the finish, with the cars expected from 7 p.m.
The rally is a qualifier for the R.A.C. British rally championship. the British trials and rally drivers gold star championship, the "Motoring News" rally championship, and the women's silver garter.
