RALLY ENTRIES IN SOON

First entries for the "Express and Star" night navigation rally on March 8-9, being organised by the Wolverhampton and South Staffordshire Car Club, should be coming in from many parts of-the country any day now.
By virtue of the permit this event has received from the R.A.C., entries are limited to 210 but the organisers are not yet sure how close to that total they will get.
All competitors must be members of an R.A.C. affiliated club. This stipulation may, unfortunately, make things a little difficult for members of some West Midland works car clubs-of which there are now quite a number-but there is nothing we can do about it.
Arrangements have now been made for the rally to finish at the Wulfrun Hall, Wolverhampton, where competitors will be able to have breakfast after their 400 miles overnight drive.
That distance, however, will not be non-stop driving. There will be two compulsory stops each of half an hour. Where the course takes competitors over gated roads, and there may be several such stretches, there is a penalty of 150 marks for every observed occasion on which a gate is not shut after passing through.

Driving tests

Before coming to the Wulfrun Hall, competitors will go through a series of driving tests on private roads at the municipal aerodrome, Pendeford. Entries from the Wolverhampton area will be started the previous evening from a point as close to the centre of the town as is possible.
Other starting points will be Liverpool, Hereford, Oxford and Newark.
